ok, this is a long overdue post of my bangkok trip. Has been busy with xmas song signing practice and proposals for the past few days and will remain busy all the way until xmas. haiz...
It was a well enjoyable and eye opener trip where we went to various places to do mostly shopping. okays, shall use the pictures to talk abt bkk.
In bkk, transport is similar to sg where there is mrt and taxi.

Remember the old mrt card that we used to have? Thats the one that bkk uses!
They actually have only 1 mrt track that runs in the opposite direction unlike ours which is opposite direction. You want to go towards a certain direction, find the sign of the floor and it will be where you will head. Wonder how they can manage the mrt timing so well that they wouldnt collide with each other.
This is what they call a tut tut car. Its something like a taxi, but its paid by per trip depending on distance. Often they see that we arent locals, they will hike up the price by quite a bit. so dont get cheated too much of your money ok!
They are something like the modern day trishaw puller. but instead, their's is a motorbike with a seat behind for them to fetch passengers. Quite interesting, but scary too. they actually drive in the opposite lane just to speed up in the traffic jam!
Another form of public transport, is the boat!
The river feels abit like the Singapore River that we have, but its ALOT longer. and each trip is super cheap too!
Nice christmas tree? This is alot bigger than the one you have in taka, and i think the decorations are not so budget too! haha.
Anyone remember the A&W that vanished a long time ago? It still exist in BKK! haha. not many branches though..

This was the horrible tasting passion fruit juice and carrot juice. Its pure juice and probably sg's taste better cos we add sugar?
One of the days while walking around the malls, we spotted this! We eat hainanese chicken rice right? Didnt know there exists a SINGAPORE chicken rice! LOL!
This was found in one of the cups used by one of the restaurants. It actually appeals more to the children. But if we actually look at the business point of view, with a small figurine inside the cup, they actually fill less into the cup and will add more to their profit! smart right?

Their McFlurry actually comes in the smaller version and their icecream had other flavours that you will never get to find in sg.
The trip to the temple was actually quite interesting. Whether or not we were buddhists or free thinkers, the information given by the tour guide was quite insightful.
There are many of such buildings around and what is inside is actually the ashes of the monks and even the kings!

Talking about the king, we were actually quite lucky to be there to witness the king's birthday celebration there at BKK. One thing about bangkok people that we singaporeans will be far from them is, they are so patriotic! It seems that everyday at 6pm Bangkok time (7pm sg time), the national anthem will be played throughout the country, on television, radio etc. What we witnessed was, everyone literally froze in their place, stopped talking, stopped doing whatever they were doing, stand up and sing the national anthem! We went to watch a movie too, and before the movie starts, we actually have to stand up to sing the national anthem too! The only thing is, what remains a mystery is, did it only happen because of the king's birthday, or its a norm before the start of every single movie?
The tour guide told us that in thailand, there is a colour that represents every day. And because the king is born on the "pink" day, if you love the king, be sure to wear pink on his birthday. and you know what, you actually witness almost everyone wearing pink on the 5th of december! People selling stuff, in restaurants, walking around, EVERYONE!!!

This was the hotel room that we stayed in the 4 nights. S$100 for 4 nights. very cheap compared to singapore's hotel rates isnt it!
Some of us went for the Thai massage there and was quite good too. Though abit painful cos i think all our muscles are hard from the walking and our daily life, its a must have when u are in thailand!
It was a enjoyable trip on the overall, insightful for someone so sua ku like me! hahaha. Next up, song signing! :)

OMG. I still haven gotten over the feeling that I RAN INTO FAZLIN AT MARINA TODAY! It really feels SOOO good to see you again man. After like how long? I dont know how long also. The happiness to see you is indescribable. We really have to meet up. Lets call for a NPCC meeting! haha.
zimin, i know u can see this la. i have this friend say why my background is black.
Went out with SL today. Its nice to meet up with people whom you haven met before. Was still worried that we wouldnt have anything to talk about. But ended up, our conversation was endless! She gave a few insights of what to expect in BK, some of the stuff that is useful in the future for me bah. I guess I will consider emailing when my results is out bah. At least if fish ask, still dont feel so jialat? Some of the stuff are too early to say anything, but they would probably happen in the future. oh well.
i said got reason de. he ask why, i say ask him find out himself lorh.
Meiyin was saying Omar counting down to the trip. I shant be lame and count down by posting everyday. but yup, after hearing all the comments about how heavenly the shopping is, IM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT! HAHA
thats why intentionally left the comment there, but apparently he cannot find. which is good! hahaha.i separate the lines,or else space v big,v obvious.haha...

EXAMS IS OVER!!
Like what was told to me in the afternoon, "for those who have their exams over, please keep quiet. or else your life is not guaranteed". So, to keep myself alive, this shall be my one and only post that my exams is over ok? haha.
Realised my posts haven had pictures for sometime. if i have, I'll try to add in bah I guess. Most of us would probably have stayed in hall over the weekends to study (or rather mug). Gosh, staying in hall for continuously across the weekend sucks! No can A food court, only have the fast food and the hall canteens. Eat until super sian man. And we found out an interesting fact for ourselves, there are exams conducted in the function room in the hall! I wonder is there any lucky Hall 12/13 people who have the luxury of having their exams right downstairs. Not bad right? haha.

This was how the chairs and tables are arranged by the AUNTIES AND UNCLES! Not bad right? Arranged in such an orderly arrangement (why does it sound like chem? -.- )
Now the next thing to look foward to is the Bangkok Trip next week. I AM NOT IN SG FROM 2TH TO 6TH DECEMBER... (ANDE, post here as promised :P)
Then there is the christmas song signing training and the actual performances. I wonder where they will be at. hmm. SH said there will be one at Northpoint, which is EXCELLENT (if you know where i stay) haha. but it may be a bad thing cos the people watching are those that I will probably know? haha. Oh well. When the venues are out, we will know..
All is left is zimin's and charles's last papers on 1st Dec, NUS's papers which end dont know when, and the ppl coming back from HK to go for outing together. I cant wait man. WOOTS!
Good luck to those who still have exams. 加油!
*if you can see this, means u have done a good job in being a detective.. :D*

A short post before i continue my next 3 days of mugging for the papers on tues and wed before im FREEEEE...
Major exams per sem is seriously sickening. Was discussing with my next block neighbours. Why they can teach so much in a short 3-4 months? We started sch in august, and now november we have exams for the sem. In As or even secondary school, each sem is 6 months? We took 1 year to prepare for As, and we only have 3 mths? Assuming that everyone started mugging right from the start of school, we would only have 3 months plus. (Obviously no one will right? After like 8 months of hiatus on studying, who would? Maybe GT and a few other crazy ones.)
The only "good" thing that comes out of this is after so many years of studying, exams only have 4 papers? Each is 2.5hrs. All along its always, Paper 1, 2 and even 3. Wow.
Was asking NUS people in EE for help on physical chem. Study until super sian. Like i was telling sy en, when I thought I would leave physics alone for the rest of my life and not look at it again, it refused to to stop haunting me. oh well.
I cant wait for exams to be over.. But then that would mean proposal due and all the CCA stuff. Oh well.
Teachers should learn how to set papers and not sit for papers isnt it? Better than this. Half the number of papers down, half more to go..
